SOCIAL DIRECTOR: DANIA WHITCO
Hello to all PIYC members, My name is Dania Whitco. I have been elected as
your 2016 Social Director.
My husband Denis and I have lived on the
Island for six years. We joined the PIYC in July and are having a great time
meeting and making new friends at the club.
I am a retired school
teacher and Denis is retired Navy/ full time Risk Control Consultant for
Higginbotham Insurance. Denis and I travel all over Texas for his work but we
are home more than away.
I am looking forward to planning and helping
with a lot of fun activities as Social Director. Please remember that even if I
do have some good ideas for events your ideas are always welcome and the more
the merrier. Feel free to call me and we will put our heads together to plan the
event you have in mind.
My goals for 2016 are to have a very fun filled
year helping everyone to enjoy our club and all of the social events old and new
for this year." Remember the more the merrier!"Thank You...... Dania Whitco

Ahoy one and all. The
commodore and board have expressed a desire for more cruise participation in
2016. To that end, we have charted a selection of both large boat and small boat
cruises. We have come up with a few new themed cruises as well as recommending
participation in most of the traditional cruise venues that we all know and
love. Hopefully, Mother Nature will let her sun shine through and the weather
and seas will cooperate. Cruise events are participatory and like social events
they need to be planned, hosted, and attended to be successful. To that end, I
will be soliciting volunteers to host and plan various cruises throughout the
year. We thank you in advance for all the help and support we know we will
receive. We look forward to serving you during the year. See you around the
club, the island, on cruises, or wherever (like H.E.B.).

The year 2016 is a big milestone for
the Padre Island Yacht Club as we celebrate 30 years. Itís exciting that we have
charter members from 1986 and the fun stories they share from the early days of
the club. We have members that helped start the club to members that are brand
new and the greatest part is that we all have fun together. I challenge all our
members to get involved as much as you can this year in supporting and enjoying
I love to meet new people, so if youíre looking into the Padre
Island Yacht Club come on by for a visit, itís a great place and lots of fun!
